Course Overview

There are many reasons within the workplace which could trigger a workplace investigation. Examples would include:

An employee bringing a grievance against another staff member for bullying or discrimination;
A formal complaint being received; and
Alleged misconduct.

It is essential that the investigations and grievance and disciplinary procedures are carried out diligently and in alignment with necessary employment legislation. Specific Course Objectives

This course will:

Provide delegates with a greater understanding the investigation, grievance and statutory disciplinary procedures including specific company policies and procedures;
Detain the essential legislation to be adhered to;
Provide skills practice in conducting interviews as well as compiling witness statements and investigation reports.

The Investigation Procedure and the roles and responsibilities of the investigating officer

Conducting interviews and drafting witness statements
Compiling the investigation report including summarising findings, drawing conclusions and making recommendations and detailing what should not be included in the investigation report
