Foundation and Practitioner PRINCE2 7 Qualifications in Antrim
Plenty of professionals in Antrim are already working in project management in some capacity. Whether that’s formally, as a named project manager, or informally, as someone who regularly leads work that has a defined scope, a deadline and a budget attached to it. What separates those who progress from those who plateau is often not experience alone. It’s the ability to demonstrate structured, methodical competence, and that’s precisely what a PRINCE2 qualification does.
PRINCE2 is the most widely used project management methodology in the world. It’s scalable, sector-agnostic and genuinely useful, not just as a line on a CV but as a practical framework that changes how you approach and deliver projects. For professionals in Antrim looking to take that step, Elite Training has been the trusted choice for PRINCE2 training across Northern Ireland for over 30 years.
Understanding Your Options
PRINCE2 certification is available at two levels, with the option to pursue both together. Here’s what each involves.
PRINCE2 Foundation (3 days | £995 + VAT)
Foundation is where every PRINCE2 journey begins. Over three full days, delegates work through the complete PRINCE2 methodology, covering the principles that shape how the framework operates, the practices that guide decisions throughout a project’s life and the processes that take a project from its initial stages through to a controlled close.
The exam at the end of the Foundation course tests knowledge across all of these areas, so the training is deliberately thorough. That thoroughness shows in our results. Our Foundation pass rate is currently 100% year to date, a figure we’re proud of and one that reflects the experience and approach of our tutors rather than luck.
Foundation certification is valid for three years. When renewal comes around, delegates can retake the Foundation exam, progress to Practitioner level or maintain accreditation through PeopleCert’s CPD programme.
PRINCE2 Practitioner (2 days | £1,020 + VAT)
Practitioner takes a different approach to Foundation. Rather than building knowledge of the methodology from the ground up, it focuses on how that knowledge is applied in practice. Over two days, delegates learn how to adapt and tailor PRINCE2 to fit the specific demands of a project environment, which is the skill the Practitioner exam directly assesses.
To be eligible, you’ll need a qualifying certification. Accepted qualifications are PRINCE2 Foundation (2009 or higher), PMP, CAPM or an IPMA qualification at any level. The course is demanding but very achievable with proper preparation. Our Practitioner pass rate sits between 85% and 90%, against a national average of 77%.
Practitioner certification lasts three years and carries the same renewal options as Foundation, with the addition of being able to pursue a separate PeopleCert accreditation to trigger automatic renewal of your PRINCE2 status.
PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner Combined (5 days | £1,995 + VAT)
For delegates who want to reach Practitioner level without an extended gap between courses, the combined programme is the most direct route. The first three days cover Foundation, with the exam taken at the close of that block. The following week moves into the two-day Practitioner course, finishing with the second exam.
Both qualifications, both exams and all accredited course materials are included in the single fee. It’s a clean, efficient way to achieve full PRINCE2 certification and the format that the majority of our delegates choose. Where delegates do opt to take the two levels separately, we’d suggest not leaving more than six months between Foundation and Practitioner to keep the knowledge fresh.
Getting to Belfast from Antrim
Public PRINCE2 courses are delivered in person at our Belfast venue. Antrim is one of the better-connected towns in Northern Ireland, with direct rail links into Belfast that make the commute straightforward for most delegates. Courses run from 9am to 5pm on each training day.
For businesses in Antrim with a group of staff to put through PRINCE2 training, a closed course at your own premises is worth considering. It removes the need for travel entirely, allows the content to be shaped around your organisation’s context and can work out more cost-effective when several people need to be trained at the same time. Group discounts apply for five or more delegates booking onto the same public course dates as well.
Every course, whether public or closed, includes the exam fee and official PRINCE2 materials. The price quoted is the price you pay.

FAQs – PRINCE2 in Antrim
I’m already working in project management but have no formal qualification. Where should I start?
Foundation is the right starting point regardless of experience. The course is designed to formalise and structure knowledge, so even experienced project managers often find it consolidates their understanding in ways that prove useful. From there, Practitioner is the natural next step.
How long does the full certification process take?
Foundation takes three days and Practitioner takes two. On the combined course, both are completed across two consecutive weeks. If you take them separately, the timeline depends on when you book each stage.
Are there group discounts available?
Yes. Discounts apply for groups of five or more delegates booking onto the same course dates. For larger groups, a closed course at your premises in Antrim is likely to be the more practical and economical route.
What’s included in the course fee?
Every PRINCE2 course includes the exam fee and accredited course materials. There are no hidden costs.
How long does PRINCE2 certification last?
Both Foundation and Practitioner certifications are valid for three years. Renewal options include retaking the relevant exam, progressing to the next certification level or maintaining CPD through PeopleCert’s annual subscription programme.

“Kathleen thanks very much for all your help, support and guidance this past week. Delivering training virtually is often hard to keep attention and deliver a message, but you managed to make it very engaging and informative.”
“I would like to thank Margaret Short (Course Tutor, Elite Training, Belfast) for her time, effort and commitment to getting my colleagues and me through the PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner course materials and exams. I have been involved in training and development for the last 20 years and believe these courses, in terms of structure, contents and delivery, are of a very high standard and I would encourage people that are involved in project management, regardless of the size, scale or scope, to take the course.”
